Sometimes, people refer it as Italian ice cream, but more precisely, it’s ‘Gelato’.

Gelato, the singular term, and gelati is the plural. That was told by Mr. Hong, the energetic boss of Gelatissimo.

Since the set-up of his first outlet, he has been traveling frequently between Penang and KL, simply because he has not been coping with KL lifestyle. Giving up the pharmacy job that had held him for 10 years, he started the gelato franchise business in 2007. His courage of making a change has also changed Kuala Lumpur. In what way? Of course, it’s the gelato we can truly enjoy!

Gelato, isn’t new to me, I got to know it through some foreign TV shows. However, I’ve never tried it prior to my first official visit to Gelatissimo.

Gelatissimo’s located at the lower ground floor of The Gardens, and it can be easily spotted. The red stools with white round tables, a couple of bar stools seated at the side of the counter, a nice spot where you can enjoy watching the making of gelato. Everything is in sync and so Zen.

There’s lots of flavors to be chosen from, accurately, it’s 28 different flavors, freshly prepared in store daily. Besides, 2 main ranges are offered, premium diary and sorbet (fruit & water-based) range, and fresh fruits are used for sorbet range. If you’re the first-time visitor, I would strongly recommend you to try out their mango flavor, also their top selling flavor.

For coffee drinker, I’d suggest you to try Affogato. The aroma of Espresso coffee would conquer all your senses. In addition, Gelatissimo’s using illy Espresso for their Affogato.

No matter how busy you are, drop by Gelatissimo, I bet your long day would pay off, and be immersed in a total stress free zone for a while.
